Position

Coastal Adaptation Design Strategist (Contract)

Working both as part time and full time contractor for Tsleil-Waututh Nation to help advise, design, and develop coastal adaptation strategies. These strategies weave both Indigenous and non-Indigenous methods for mitigating the effects of sea level rise and coastal climate change while nurturing local biodiversity and culturally significant species. My role is to support community engagement through workshops and activities as well as help develop, visualize, and spatialize conceptual strategies through information gathered from community meetings. The strategies not only aim to lessen the effects of climate change on Tsleil-Waututh Nation's Reserve shoreline but also increasing local biodiversity and foster spaces for future food security and intergenerational knowledge sharing.
